Jeonnong-ro (전농로): The most beautiful cherry blossom road in Jeju — but arrive just one day late and regret it for the whole year
Jeonnong-ro (전농로) is a road located in Samdo-dong, Jeju City, about 1km long with two rows of ancient cherry trees planted close together, their canopies intertwining to form a spectacular white-pink flower tunnel during full bloom season. It is considered the most famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Jeju — and not without reason.
The best time is from late March to early April, when the flowers are blooming 70–100%. Anyone who arrives right when the flowers are in full bloom can hardly put their camera down — petals falling white on the road, petals flying in the wind like a Korean drama scene. But some people come at the end of March and only see about 30% bloom because of bad weather that week — it depends heavily on the weather, so check the forecast carefully before booking tickets.
A special point is during the night festival season (Jeju King Cherry Blossom Festival), the entire row of trees is lit up with sparkling lights after dark, turning the road into a completely different experience from daytime — more magical, quieter, and according to many, even more beautiful. Also note: during cherry blossom season, vehicles are banned from this road section, so you can leisurely walk in the middle of the road without worrying about traffic.
Outside cherry blossom season, Jeonnong-ro is still a pleasant street for strolling — the tall straight trees provide excellent shade in summer, and walking along the lush green road under a full moon at night is also a unique experience in its own way.
Small tip: If possible, visit both early morning and evening on the day of peak bloom — two completely different scenes, both worth it. No need to book tickets or pay entry fees, just arrive at the right time.
